About Us
Achilles International is a global program that partners volunteers with people with disabilities through athletic programs and personal connection. The program works with individuals with disabilities including those who are blind, have traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or have a cognitive or developmental disability. The program in New York City focuses on volunteers running with the athletes with disabilities in Central Park and also offers hand-bike and triathlon volunteering as well. ||Mount Sinai Achilles NYC aims to facilitate connections between the Mount Sinai community and Achilles NYC. Our group helps connect students at Sinai to volunteer with Achilles and organizes training and volunteering sessions for students. We also are working on making connections with departments at Sinai that have patients who might benefit from being involved with Achilles. Finally, we are aiming to organize talks about exercise and community building for individuals with disabilities.
