About Us
The Cancer & Community Health Outreach Initiative (CCHOI) is a student-led organization dedicated to improving healthcare access in underserved communities and marginalized populations. CCHOI operates with a dual mission:
Cancer screening outreach: to organize community-based events to provide free cancer screenings-such as breast, cervical, prostate, and colorectal-ensuring early detection and education in populations that often face systemic barriers to preventive care. This is always done in partnership with a healthcare institution that guarantees treatment if pathology is detected.
Pop-Up community clinics: CCHOI sets up walk-in clinics staffed by volunteer physicians to deliver healthcare consultations. These clinics are always located at community-based sites and offer basic medical assessments, free medications when appropriate, and referrals to follow-up services with assistance in healthcare navigation.
