About Us

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Interest Group, affiliated with the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation (KTGF), is dedicated to promoting interest in child and adolescent mental health, research, education, and advocacy among medical students. Through collaboration with faculty mentors and leaders in the field, the group provides opportunities for students to engage in discussions on child psychiatry, developmental disorders, and youth mental health initiatives.

The organization hosts monthly speaker events featuring experts in child and adolescent psychiatry, including faculty from the Seaver Autism Center and Mount Sinai and the Center of Excellence in Eating and Weight Disorders. Activities include educational lectures, mentorship opportunities, networking events, and discussions focused on advancing awareness and innovation in child mental health care. The group also fosters student involvement in KTGF-supported initiatives and professional development opportunities related to pediatric and adolescent psychiatry.
