Medicine for Migration: National Advocacy (Against Public Charge) Week.

The leaders of the Mount Sinai Latinx Medical Student Association (LMSA) along with other campus organizations are leading events against the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) proposal to changing the definition of “public charge.” The change would target already marginalized immigrant communities and cause negative indirect health consequences. LMSA will host the event: “Public Charge Teach-in: What it means and how to help,” to empower the Sinai community to submit public comments against this policy.
