Tutoring at the Adolescent Health Center

Mission:
Tutoring at the Adolescent Health Center (AHC) is a student-run volunteer organization whose mission is to provide free, high-quality tutoring to patients of the Adolescent Health Center at Mount Sinai. We find medical students and graduate students at Mount Sinai to volunteer for these roles, and we work with the social workers and staff at the AHC to ensure we are meeting students’ needs in academics and standardized test preparation.

Types of Service Projects Engaged In:
Education/Teaching in the community, Education/Teaching at Sinai (e.g., through an elective)

Tentative Volunteer Needs:
We have an ongoing need for new tutors in academic subjects, language subjects, SAT, ACT, GED, etc. If you are a medical student or graduate student at Mount Sinai and you are interested in volunteering 1 hour a week to tutor at the AHC, please contact us at AHCTutoring@gmail.com. We often have opening tutoring positions we are trying to fill, and we keep a list of potential tutors for when new positions arise.
