Dr. Lello Tesema: Combatting Institutional Racism in Medicine

 

Please join Students for Equal Opportunity in Medicine (SEOM), CMCA, and AOA for a discussion with Dr. Lello Tesema on Tuesday February 13th from 4-5pm

Dr. Tesema‘s career has focused on the intersection of medicine and social justice, with a particular interest in inequities in correctional health. Dr. Tesema is also a Sinai graduate (Class of 2012) who was an active member of SNMA and SEOM. She will be sharing her insights on how we as healthcare providers can fight institutional racism in medicine. See flyer for her full bio and event details.

 

Black Panther Movie Night

Please join SNMA, LMSA, and Students for Equal Opportunity in Science (SEOS) to see the new Black Panther movie in theaters February 24. Details on when/where to meet up will follow!

Black History Month Book Drive

Throughout February and March we will be collecting books by Black authors and/or about the African diaspora to donate to a local high school. If you would like to donate a book in person, please reach out to masrai.williams@icahn.mssm.edu or alioune.gaye@icahn.mssm.edu. If you would like to make a cash donation ($10-20) towards a specific book, please venmo @mssmSNMA with the name of the book in the description.
