Why This Initiative Is Necessary
- Testicular Cancer is most common among males aged 15-35.
- Other testicular pathologies are also common among this age group.
- Proper education about screening for testicular cancer and awareness of testicular pathologies can improve outcomes.
- Most State Public School curriculums do not require health classes to teach about testicular health, testicular cancer, or screening. This creates a gap in awareness in our community and further propagates social determinants of health.
Our Goals
- Educate local teenagers and young adults about testicular cancer and other common testicular pathologies to spread awareness in our community
- Demonstrate the testicular self-exam to promote screening for testicular cancer and other common pathologies
- Introduce the topic of cancer screening to promote healthier lifestyles in the future
Our Program
- Partner with local high schools and other teenage-focused programs
- Discuss testicular cancer as well as other common testicular pathologies
- Demonstrate the proper method of testicular self-examination using testicular model kits
