Mentoring in Neuroscience Discovery at Sinai (MiNDS) is a graduate student-run volunteer group based out of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Friedman Brain Institute. We are determined to make neuroscience education fun and accessible to our East Harlem community in New York City through community outreach, interactive classroom courses, and online educational content. MiNDS devotes our programming efforts to working with school age children and our goal is to reduce the barrier of entry into STEM fields and inspire the next generation of scientists. MiNDS offers opportunities for Mount Sinai students to improve their science communication skills, acquire outreach, community service, and teaching experience, and develop science education programming.
