Doctors for America at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is dedicated to improving access and quality of care for individuals in East Harlem. We strive to build meaningful and collaborative relationships within the community and with its institutions and resources. We recognize the systemic injustices that perpetuate health disparities and, through our work, we aim to improve the health of the East Harlem residents. We also help mobilize medical students to be leaders in putting patients over politics on the pressing issues of the day to improve the health of our patients, communities, and nation.
The student leaders for 2017 -2018 are Cesar Andrade, Brian Deutsch, and James Blum. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the leaders for information on how to get involved and for future events.
Our faculty advisors are Dr. Ann-Gel Palermo and Mr. Ray Cornbill.
