The Mount Sinai Vascular Surgery Interest Group (VSIG) is a student run organization dedicated to promote awareness of the field of vascular surgery among medical students and to provide them with research, shadowing, and mentorship opportunities.
Each year the VSIG leadership organizes several events open to the entire student body:
- (1) General introductory information session
- (2) Research panel
- (3) Career panel
- (4) Residency match panel
- (5) Suturing workshops
Other events may include case presentations by residents; introduction to shadowing (procedure overview, scrubbing and OR etiquette overview, etc.), and surgical technique workshops (anastomoses, etc.).
