- Mentorship Committee: Help plan our next mentorship coffee hour! The goal of these events is to provide students and postdocs with the opportunity to meet with female faculty at Mount Sinai in a casual setting to talk about their scientific journeys and career challenges faced by women in academia. We also plan to highlight discussions concerning the challenges faced by women of color in science and how we can better support our colleagues. Attendees are placed into small groups for discussion with a faculty mentor and their peers.
- Professional Development Committee: Collaborate with other student orgs and offices at Sinai to bring in speakers related to scientific careers and professional development. Interested in careers outside of academia? Building skills in public speaking or negotiating? Help make sure we plan panels and workshops that matter to you!
- Social Committee: Plan social events to bring together students and postdocs within Mount Sinai and across other women in science groups at other institutions.
- Fundraising and Travel Award Committee: Help plan fundraisers to raise money for our annual travel awards, which are granted to at least one postdoc and one student each year to support participation in a physical or virtual conference our course.
