Policy Experience & Interests: Ben worked as a health educator in New York City with homeless and recently incarcerated populations doing HIV testing and sexual health and has some understanding of the city’s health policy with these populations. He is interested in the big picture of how policy shapes health care and creates the health care system. He looks forward to finding a passionate mentor who is able to question the underlying precepts of the health care system and the policy that shapes it (and helps him to do the same). He is also interested in more practical local change and quality improvement, in NYC specific policy, LGBT issues, homeless populations, and incarcerated populations.
