Education: B.A. in Neurobiology & French Studies, University of Pennsylvania
Policy Experience & Interests: Daniel is really interested in the ACA reform in general, but specifically in the links between alternative funding models, utilization, and governance. He is also interested in the use of cost effectiveness in measuring health interventions (e.g. by using QALYs etc.). Previously, Daniel worked for a Canadian Crown Corporation, as part of the team that proposed and brought the Universal Drug Coverage plan to committee in the Canadian Senate. Specifically, within this project, he worked on alternate funding models. Daniel has worked in the ER policy unit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania helping to look at the ER’s position within the community health system. He is currently an online TA for a Master’s course in health innovation run between the Perelman School of Medicine and the Wharton School of Business at Penn. Over the summer, Dan interned at NBC News, helping to cover the health care policy stances of candidates in this election cycle.
