Second Annual Mount Sinai Charity Drag Race – February 6th, 2020
Hosted by Ritzy Bitz and with six queens competing, our Second Annual Charity Drag Race raised over $7,500 to benefit the Ali Forney Center, a homeless shelter and resource center for LGBTQ+ youth.
Holiday Party and Clothing Swap – December 12th, 7-9pm
oSTEM and Stonewall Alliance hosted a holiday party and clothing swap. People were free to enjoy food from Lexington Pizza Parlor and find new-to-them clothing, which allowed people to both find gender-affirming clothing in a safe space, and reduce contributing to “fast fashion.” At the end of the night, all remaining clothes were donated to Out My Closet, an NYC organization that provides clothing to homeless and/or under-served LGBTQ+ youth.
Second Annual Mean Girls Movie Night – October 3rd, 7-9pm
oSTEM and Stonewall Alliance celebrated October 3rd, Mean Girls Day with a screening of the cult classic film and free Taco Bell.
Lunch & Discussion with Dr. Scout, MA PhD – September 17th, 12-1pm
We joined Dr. Scout for lunch & discussion prior to his talk as part of the Diverse Brains Neuroscience lecture series, “Diversity and Health Equity from a Transgender Perspective.”
Out-on-the-Town Happy Hour – August 29th, 2019, 6-8pm
A good crowd joined us at Third Ave Ale House to socialize with LGBTQIA+ friends and allies, and use up the rest of our school year budget.
Second Annual Pride Pesto Party – August 19th, 2019
oSTEM and the Stonewall Alliance hosted our second annual #QueerNormativePestoParty! We provided free pasta and pesto in the Annenberg Student Lounge for LGBTQIA+ friends and allies in the Mount Sinai community.
Coming Out Ice Cream Social – July 30th, 2019
oSTEM at Mount Sinai had our 2nd Annual Coming Out Ice Cream Social 6 PM in the Levinson Student Center (Annenberg Building, 1st Floor).
Inaugural Mount Sinai Charity Drag Race – January 31st, 2019
Our team worked hard to put together an AMAZING show to benefit the Ali Forney Center, a NYC organization dedicated to protecting homeless LGBTQ youths and empowering them to live independently. With professional drag queen Lagoona Bloo as our host and judged by Mount Sinai faculty and staff from the Ali Forney Center, Sinai queens performed for a packed auditorium – and raised $2700 for the Ali Forney Center.
Holiday Clothing Swap & Holiday Party – December 12th, 2018, 7-10pm
A holiday party with food, drinks, music, games and a holiday clothing swap/drive! The swap was a chance to clean out closets, repurpose lightly used clothing and find gender expression-affirming clothing in a safe space! All new/lightly used clothing unclaimed at the end of the night was donated to the Ali Forney Center for the benefit of homeless LGBTQA+ youth.
“Out on the Town” Queer Social Hour – October 25th, 5-7pm
Where: Harlem Food Bar (2100 Frederick Douglass Boulevard)
Our first “Out on the Town” Queer Social Hour at a local, queer-friendly establishment.
Mean Girls Movie Night – October 3rd, 2018
To celebrate the iconic movie that made October 3rd a pseudo-holiday, Stonewall Alliance and oSTEM co-hosted a get-together and screening of Mean Girls in the Aron Hall Lounge.
Pride Pesto Party – August, 2018
Just a Queer-Normative Pesto Party (co-hosted by Stonewall Alliance) to end the summer and welcome new students! Pesto and pasta were served in the Annenberg Grad Student Lounge.

Marsha P. Johnson Documentary Screening – June 18th @ 7 PM
In this spirit of appreciating our history, the oSTEM at Mount Sinai and the Stonewall Alliance will be hosting a viewing of “The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson“.
This amazing documentary follows Marsha P. Johnson, a revolutionary black trans woman, sex worker, and drag queen, who was one of the prominent figures during the Stonewall Riots.
We hope you will join us for an exceptional documentary, good company and light refreshments!
