Medicine for Migration: National Advocacy (Against Public Charge) Week.
The leaders of the Mount Sinai Latinx Medical Student Association (LMSA) along with other campus organizations are leading events against the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) proposal to changing the definition of “public charge.” The change would target already marginalized immigrant communities and cause negative indirect health consequences. LMSA will host the event: “Public Charge Teach-in: What it means and how to help,” to empower the Sinai community to submit public comments against this policy.

LMSA Northeast Region Summer Fiesta!
Every year the Latinx Medical Student Association (LMSA) Northeast region hosts a Summer Fiesta where students from schools in the region can meet and mingle over delicious food! This year’s fiesta is being hosted by our amistades at Well Cornell Medical School.
A group of students will be leaving Sinai together on Saturday, August 4th around 3:30PM. Please join in the revelry as we eat and drink the summer night away!
The Fiesta will be held at the Belfer Research Building Terrace (413 E. 69th St). Tickets for entry cost $5, and proceeds will go to RAICES, an organization in Texas that has been focusing on reuniting families that were separated during the border crisis.
