Incoming PhD and MSBS students are assigned a peer mentorship “family”. The PhD Peer Mentor Program consists of two upper-year students in their program (PhD or MS) and 3-4 first year students.
Check-ins start before students arrive to answer questions and help new students transition to grad school as seamlessly as possible. Throughout the academic year, THAW’s peer mentorship team hosts meals, trivia nights, and other events to help mentors and mentees re-connect and to provide venues for mentees to ask questions around important grad-school milestones.
New mentors are solicited every summer before the new academic year.
See the “Who are we?” page for contact info for current Peer Mentorship Leaders.
