Judges

Call for Judges

This event would not be possible without the efforts of volunteer judges. As avid supporters of undergraduate researchers, you will support this experience for all of our presenters.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Judges’ Meetings at the start of each Poster Session for which you are judging.
  • Complete evaluation for each poster to which you are assigned.
  • Collaborate with other judges in the same group to select the first and second place presenters.
  • Submit selections for winners to awards coordinator.

Every effort will be made to avoid conflicts of interest when judging assignments are organized. If a judge finds themselves judging a poster where they feel there may be a conflict of interest, they may alert the Event Coordinator and recuse themselves from that assignment.

Judge Registration

Those interested in volunteering as a judge for the upcoming Symposium are encouraged to register as early as possible. To sign up as a judge, simply indicate as such when you register your attendance to the event and fill out the supplementary information.

Please note, that judges will be equally comprised of volunteer PIs or Mentors and current qualified PhD candidates from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Judging assignments will be emailed out to volunteers the week preceding the event.
