Poster Requirements

Maximize Poster Size

The maximum poster size for the Undergraduate Research Symposium is 36-inches by 42-inches (~92 cm x ~107 cm). A template can be downloaded here.

PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRINTING THEIR OWN POSTERS.

Tips for Poster Makers:

  • Do not use light colored text on dark backgrounds. It uses a lot of ink which may not print uniformly. Also, do not use complicated images for the background of your poster. If you do use an image, make it a watermark so that it does not distract the eyes too much.
  • Test what size font works best for your poster. The text should be easily visible from a distance of 4-6 feet. Avoid using text that is too large.

  • Do not have large sections of text (except for the abstract) in block or paragraph format. Distill any pertinent text into short statement that can easily be read by the viewer.
