Community Advocacy and Outreach Groups:
These student groups are dedicated to promoting social change, supporting community needs, and engaging in advocacy efforts aligned with shared values and causes. They create opportunities for students to take meaningful action through education, outreach, and collaboration. The mission of these groups is to empower members to address societal challenges, foster a sense of responsibility, and build partnerships that drive positive impact within and beyond the ISMMS community.
Groups in this category focus on:
- Advocating for marginalized or underserved populations.
- Raising awareness of equity issues.
- Organizing community service and outreach initiatives.
- Fostering dialogue and positive action around important societal topics related to biomedical or health education, research, or patient care delivery.
By participating in these groups, students develop leadership skills, deepen their understanding of complex issues, and contribute to creating a more just and equitable environment in medicine and beyond.
